Selection process

We are looking for entrepreneurs, who demonstrate preparation, energy and leadership, willing to make a long-term commitment, reside in the geographical area where they will operate the McDonald’s restaurant, have their own capital to make the investment, have availability to train full time during our Training Period and above all, are committed to the brand and respect the McDonald’s System.

The selection process of a McDonald’s Franchisee has a beginning and an end, and its duration is never less than a year. Each step in the process is eliminatory. The following is the path that a franchisee applicant goes through:

Step One

The path to becoming a McDonald’s Franchisee begins by completing the Franchisee Application Form. If your profile matches who we are looking for and there are opportunities in your geographic area of interest, the person responsible for the Franchise Department in your country will contact you for a personal interview.

3-day evaluation

The next step is an invitation to spend 3 days in one of our restaurants. It is a good opportunity to learn how a McDonald’s restaurant is operated, get a feel for our processes and get a glimpse of what your life will be like in our McDonald’s Franchise System. During your 3-day evaluation, a Panel of Interviewers from the market will contact you to get to know you.

Competencies

We need to know who is going to join our McDonald’s Franchise System, for this, we have the support of experienced providers that help us evaluate the competencies of the applicants and their background through an Assessment and a Compliance Report.

Final Interviews

Before the start of the Training Period, the applicant will have personal assessment interviews with some of our top executives.

Training Period

Once you are approved to join the System, you will complete a Training Period of no less than 36 weeks full time in a Restaurant Training Center.

The keys to McDonald's restaurant

The day has arrived! After signing the corresponding contracts that will grant you the right to operate the McDonald’s brand at a specific location, you will receive the keys for the operation of the assigned restaurant. An experienced Team of Consultants will be available to provide the necessary support at all times

Our contribution: We source certified raw materials and implement processes to reduce our environmental impact. We promote circular solutions to extend the useful life of waste, encouraging recycling and subsequent reuse to benefit the environment and our communities.

Ensure access to affordable, safe, sustainable and modern energy for all

Our contribution: We enhance energy efficiency in our restaurants through various initiatives such as the use of special glass, LED lighting and maximizing natural light. We also use energy-efficient air conditioners to insulate solar heat and work with suppliers to promote renewable energy and sustainable practices.

GOAL 6

Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

Our contribution: In our restaurants, we take conserve water through different implementations, such as the use of flow reducers in kitchen and bathroom faucets. We also recover rainwater and condensation from air conditioners, reusing it for irrigation and cleaning.

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Our contribution: We are the only company in the industry with a Deforestation-Free Beef Sourcing Policy. We continuously work with suppliers and partners to ensure responsibly sourced raw materials.

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

Our contribution: We ensure our products come from certified sources, promoting environmentally friendly fishing practices.
