An inside look at the experience that opens the doors to McDonald’s kitchens
Open Doors invites visitors inside McDonald’s kitchens to discover, through a fun and educational experience, how the world’s most famous menu is prepared, ask questions, and see firsthand the brand’s high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety. Since its launch in 2014, more than 15 million people have participated in the initiative across Latin America and the Caribbean.
During the approximately 20-minute tour, visitors can see how ingredients are stored and handled, how each order is prepared, and the controls carried out daily in restaurants. They can also learn about the origin of key ingredients, talk with restaurant teams, and have their questions answered.
Open Doors is available to everyone and can be requested directly at the counter. Tours are subject to team availability and each restaurant’s operations, particularly during peak hours.
Over the past three years, more than 940,000 people have evaluated Open Doors through a post-visit survey: more than 98% said their perception of the McDonald’s brand improved or improved significantly, while 99% rated the tour as excellent or very good.
“Transparency is a commitment we make every day by opening our kitchens to everyone. We want to listen, answer questions, and give every visitor the opportunity to see firsthand the care and standards behind their favorite menu,” said David Grinberg, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Arcos Dorados.
